How to choose an Paranormal Investigation Team
and why OPI.
Professional vs. Amateur: With the increase in paranormal groups popping up and quickly disappearing almost
on a monthly basis I become convinced that the general public as well as others seeking advice in pertaining to
possible paranormal activity have a credible professional paranormal team insight into what to avoid.
A little about OPI:
At OPI we intentionally chose to keep our team of professional investigators limited to a small number. Ninety
percent of our applicants are not offered probationary membership. Out of the remaining ten percent only about
two percent that satisfactory complete OPI’s probationary training are qualified and meet OPI’s criteria for
membership. We are serious about our investigations, our credibility and about allowing our investigators into
your home or business. Every potential member must pass a criminal background check, No exceptions.
I am constantly amazed how people will spend more time in selecting an honest, reliable mechanic than taking the
time in researching the credentials of a paranormal investigation team. There are many groups to be wary of and
for many good reasons.
We have found bigger teams and amateur groups to be an investigation nightmare. They are nearly impossible to
organize, control and confidentiality is often questionable. Please use caution when searching for an investigation
team. Anyone can post a website but do they really have the background and experience to conduct an
investigation? Are they honest, can you trust them in your house, do they really understand the nature of
paranormal investigating?
We make these statements not to discredit credible groups from investigations but to educate those who are in
need of professional and credible paranormal teams.
Usually, reviewing a paranormal website and viewing what they consider evidence is enough to lay a foundation in
helping to determine if a group has any hope of completing an unbiased investigation, let alone the proper
application and review of physical evidence. Read their reports if they have any. Are they logical, subjective or just
plain lacking? Do they claim to have psychic abilities and conduct the investigation likewise or worst wait till they
show up and then conduct a psychic investigation based on unproven abilities?
You should attempt to determine what experience they actually have. Some groups may mean well but they lack
how to properly collect and review the evidence. While they may mean well, do you really want a group with little
experience to stir up trouble in your location? It is very possible they could leaving you confused and to face the
consequences. I have seen this happen more than I would like to say.
Are they an amateur group or a monthly meet up group that allows everyone, including children, with a mere
interest to become part of an investigation in your home or business? These groups have a proper place in fun
times but have no business conducting a real investigation. Many times what these groups do bring and are well
versed in is the entertainment factor.
The OPI team understands the need for clients confidentiality and maintaining the highest investigation standards.
All OPI team members are professionals in their career fields and paranormal endeavors. We strive to fully
understand the needs of our clients and case peculiars. Our investigators have unique backgrounds and
educational accomplishments.
Our background includes over thirty years in the occult and religious studies, metaphysics, paranormal sciences
and clergy membership. We have no religious affiliations.
While we have found amateur groups attempting to imitate our statements and approach we fully believe that an
untrained, poorly grounded group to do more harm than good for the client. Good intentions are not a substitute
for experience, proper investigation techniques, evidence collection, review and presentation.
The one absolute thing you should not allow is a group of questionable ability or questionable credibility into your
house or location. Once they leave whatever they have brought with them or stirred up will more than likely stay
and with a new attitude.
What we are NOT:
Hobbyist or amateur ghost hunters
A club
A meet up group
Thrill seekers
Fly by night paranormal group
Claiming to be psychics/sensitive and allowing investigations to be conducted by subjective feelings and unproven
abilities.
A group that will conduct an investigation and never follow up with the client.
Issuing client reports that are an assimilation of guess work, contaminated, faulty evidence and lack of experience.
What we ARE:
We are driven by passion and not the need for personal entertainment, personal recognition or financial gain.
We are a proven team of professional investigators with well rounded experience in the physical sciences, human
psychology, religion, occult and paranormal.
Our web statements are not merely written words but hold true to every aspect of our investigations.
While we cannot accept every request for investigations we will refer to another trusted local team with client's
permission.
We do charge a small fee for local and out town investigations (Click link for fee policy). The fee in no way covers
expenses nor do we expect them to. We find those that are just curious about the paranormal are less likely to
invest in an investigation. Those that are serious and have serious concerns are usually happy to pay the small fee.
Our approach also helps us to more fully concentrate our team and efforts on investigation request that require
professionals.
