Silver Queen Hotel - Virgina City, Nevada
Our observations and experiences:  We arrived in Virginia City early Wednesday morning, late October 2007.
Based upon our knowledge of  Virginia City’s past history and reputation we expected to witness a unruly place
where anything could happen but to our surprise the  early morning atmosphere gave the town a more tame,
peaceful  appearance.  We were to spend our first night at the Silver Queen Hotel.

Silver Queen:  Located  on the main drive in the down town area  and boasting to be the oldest bar in Virginia City
had over the years acquired the reputation  of being haunted. Based upon our conversation with the hotel clerk
adjoining rooms 11 and 13 had been reported to have the most activity so it was decided that both rooms would be
our starting point. The hotel clerk also showed us a photo of what was a alleged ectoplasm caught in the bar area.

According to the hotel clerk, in room 13 a prostitute had taken her own life cutting her wrist and bleeding to death
in the bath tub.  The clerk also stated that she has heard stories  that in the middle of the night that a lady knocks
on the doors and whispers but when the mainly, male occupants of the room open the door they find no one there.
There has been reports from others and paranormal groups that they were awaken in the middle of the night from
what sounded like a brawl and other sounds.

The OPI team in reviewing audio, video and other measurements that were taken at the Silver Queen picked up
nothing unusual but did during the same night had several experiences which later were completely ruled to be a
result of natural causes.
The OPI team were the only guest of the hotel at the night of the investigation which allowed us to fully control our
audio and video for cross contamination.

The OPI team’s approach to all investigations requires firsthand experiences and evidence. Our investigation
revealed nothing paranormal at the Silver Queen Hotel. We cannot say Silver Queen is haunted or currently
experiencing activity but we also understand that our investigation occupied only a small time frame in the history
and operation of the Silver Queen.
